DescriptionWhen I saw this at the LA ArtCon, I thought Wow ... I kind of have to have this splash! I mean who doesn't love Black Widow and Daredevil soaring through the air?Great Colan / Palmer art- would love to pair it up with page 2 where Widow lands on DD and tries to wrap him up - then create a triptych with page 3 where DD defeats a crazed Widow. FYI, The Starlite Roof is a famous lounge at the top of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in SF, a cool bonus as I spent a bit of time around Union Square. Posted an additional image from a lounge postcard. Doesn't hurt the impact that this is slightly oversized at 11 x 15" image on 11.5 x 17.5" stock - almost twice up given there is no indicia. Looks like my scan cut the top of a bit, as well as the bottom so FYI, this is from Daredevil 93. Entered in 2021 CAF Best Splash - Made the Top 10 with 27 votes, so thanks folks! Social/Sharing |

The sense of speed if excellent, especially for that time period (long before manga speed lines).

Lucky dog! This caught my eye, too, before the show opened, but it was taken down when I went back to ask.
P.S. Love the Starlight Roof postcard!

I just want to know why Marvel was shooting down artwork?! And definitely don't reduce the blurbs and captions while doing so, you crazy maniacs! This is a perfect Colan splash. Only he could capture quite this much frenetic action in a static splash image. You got some real keepers in this batch. Big congrats!

When you have a Bronze Age Marvel splash with the names Colan and Palmer on it, you've got something really, really, special. Congratulations! What a beauty.

Regarding your description, it got me thinking...'would love to pair it up with page 2 where Widow lands on DD and tries to wrap him up - then create a triptych with page 3 where DD defeats a crazed Widow.' Since I have not read this particular comic and seeing as how they had a thing going together, is it appropriate to use such terms as pair, widow landing on DD and tries to wrap him up. A crazed widow indeed. Sounds like a painful way to go. No wonder they split up if thats her way of getting his attention.

An incredibly high quality example of both a bronze age Daredevil splash as well as an aesthetically beautiful layout. The Daredevil pose is spectcular and the fact that Black Widow is also there is just a very tasty icing on the cake!
