DescriptionCamelot 3000 was a 12 issue mini-series that ran in the early 80's. The basic premise was that King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table were resurrected in the year 3000 AD, fulfilling an ancient prophecy that Arthur would return when England needed him most.Written by Mike Barr, this was Brian Bolland's first major work for the US market, with inking assists from Terry Austin and Bruce Patterson. I had to double check the dates of publication, because it took so long to get the story out. I didn't recall waiting so long between issues, but apparently Bolland got behind on the last 4 or 5 issues, and it reportedly took Bolland almost nine months to pencil the final issue.

The third paragraph of your description pretty much echoes my memories and sentiments of the series. I do miss my Issue #4 DPS though. Nice cover, congrats buddy! Stay safe!

I really enjoyed this mini-series, feels a bit under-appreciated overall...great cover...love the reflection detail on the sword hilt.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I never finished it. That was when I took my collecting hiatus. :)
Anyway, that is an excellent cover. Congratulations!

Wow, a magnificent Camelot 3000 cover that simply oozes Bolland! And like Watchmen, there's only 12 of 'em!

A top-tier example from an A+ creator who oversaw a classic series? Such a weird thing for you to decide to add to your collection. To each their own, I guess...

First, this Maxi-Series introduced me to Bolland's art as I am a fan of the Arthurian legend. Bolland's art here was uniquely visual and highly detailed. I did not have any exposure to his British work (i.e. Judge Dredd and other series) that he was drawing way back when as it did not make its way to my comic stores. Second, you leave us hanging for more than a year after you won this gem at the February 2019 Heritage Signature Auction. How could you? Just kidding - you acquired a great cover for an even more outrageous price. Like you wrote, if you had to acquire one iconic Bolland cover, then this is an outstanding example.

I could not agree with this more- I just remembered liking everything about this story. It was a new art style for me, it was on heavier, glossy paper, and the treatment of various members of the round table was different than I would expect; much edgier.

Fantastic cover Ron. Camelot 3000 is such a memorable serie. The art was just terrific, especially the Bolland inked issues.
