This is an o.k. cover. I wouldn't have posted it in the galleries here, but that is your perogative. I would however be willing to take it off your hands. You could probably use the money towards a piece of decent art. :p

Actually I like it better than most he did on the run. They're all well-drawn, but this one's one of the few WW covers which contains a bit of the quirky Brittish humor that sets Bolland apart from being just a great renderer.

Great cover, it is almost as good as the prelim I have :) The unconventional comic book cover is something Bolland pulls off so easily.

This cover has just got to blow you away in person. It is quite amazing on the computer screen and I know what that translates into in person...ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! I would love to see this one in person one day. :)

Simply fantastic cover! If Bolland wasn't so goldarned expensive, I'd have one (heck, more than one). Bolland is a master. Count me among those who consider "action covers" to be overrated in general. While I do love those that are well-drawn (and I'm a stickler), it's actually more difficult to draw characters more "at rest," at least without making them appear too stiff. Most artists out there will probably agree in that assessment.

While it does take a certain amount of skill to convey motion and movement in a drawing, it's likely even more challenging to define a character's nature and personality in a still drawing. And yes, Brian's prices have certainly skyrocketed. Wish I still had all the pieces I let go. Sigh! At least I saved the best for last.

This cover is incredible and always makes me envy your collection whenever I come by to visit. Deserves its rightful place as centerpiece on your featured gallery.

I'd say this is better than most of the standard WW covers he drew. Both humorous and strange as well as a sly comment on the central character.

So much better without the garish colours obscuring the gorgeous subtleties.

Although comic art is supposedly drawn for color, after the reduction, coloring, and printing process, it's virtually impossible for any published comic to do justice to the originals. Which is probably why I now collect art instead of comics. Ha!

I feel so lucky to have this one. Not sure it would make anyone's Top 5 Bolland WW covers, but I just love it. As for Cheers, I'd take it over Seinfeld any day of the week. Thanks for the comment Paul, stay safe!

Thanks Mark! I think covers like this work in one of two ways. First, it can be such an eye pleasing image that you almost forget there are also 22 pages of story behind it. And second (as you mention) it IS suck a stark image that it demands to be investigated. I'm sorry to say that I fall into the first category, as I have never in all these years been able to get past the cover. Which means, to this day, I have asbosutely no idea what is going on in this shot. LOL

Thanks Kit. Totally agree. Makes me wonder how I was stupid enough to get rid of all my other Bolland covers. Appreciate the comment and please stay safe.

Yup! Check out my SOLD section. Had seven other Bolland pieces, including five other covers. Never should have let those go. Dumb, dumb, dumb! Oh well, what's done is done I guess. Thanks for the comment and the compliment about my collection/gallery.

No worries Phill. The wonderful thing about art is that the beauty each of us sees in it is timeless. So it doesn't really matter whether it's today, tomorrow, or next year, your comment will always be appreciated. Thanks for the kind words and best wishes to you for the new year.
