DescriptionEastman in his "Artobiography" said this about this issue: "Now was the time to dive into our love of "Star Wars"...Robots, aliens, lasers, land speeders, flying cars and of course a "Cantina" scene. We wanted it all." I love the multiple angles each of the three main panels provide, creating such energetic movement. The four Turtles in each of the large panels, along with 18 Triceratons and 11 Federation Troops (yup, I counted!) scattered about in various stages of battle really showcase the all-out war the Turtles found themselves in. The entire "Turtles in Space" storyline can basically be summed up in just these 2 pages. Done on the classic Mirage Studios staple Duo-shade art boards that gave the Turtles books such a distinctive look, I'm super excited to land such an incredible spread. The cool sepia tones created when adding the developing chemicals to the Graphix Duo-Shade boards really is something speical. Most everything you see in my galleries are keepers in my eyes, some I've owned for over a decade, so I am not a super motivated seller. That said, items with prices on them are actively for sale at prices that would make me part with them. Those with ACCEPTING OFFERS mean healthy offers may just pry some of these loose. And NFS mean not likely to sell unless a truly motivated buyer comes along. Thanks for looking! All sales are final, most early pages are about 8.5" X 12.5" as Eastman and Laird couldn't afford larger boards when they were just getting started. This specific piece is larger being that it is a spread and consists of two smaller boards that they affixed together for the finished piece. Covers are larger and various sizes. Social/Sharing |
