DescriptionNick Cardy, besides being the creator of beautiful art, was an absolutely wonderful man and an absolute delight to talk to. He called to be sure that I liked his work!If you'd like more information about Nick, I can recommend the following books: More of his art can be found in: BTW, Carmine Infantino said in his book that Nick and Joe Kubert were the best of the Silver Age. This drawing was published in Rough Stuff 8 on page 12 in Bob McLeod's interview with Nick Cardy. While I think my version is the best (love his pencils and the star burst) this design was used by Nick several other times. The most noticeable is the cover of The Silver Age Teen Titans Archive. The original art for that piece in in the CAF in the gallery of Greg Gross (click to embiggen):   .Another version is very similar to mine. It's pencils, but lacks the star burst. You can find it in the gallery of Mark Grier (click to embiggen):  .The final version posted on the CAF is also pencil, but appears to have been much more quickly or perhaps as a preliminary originally. Simply awesome!! I also love the notion that he phoned to check you liked it! If it were me he'd have been able to hear the whoops of delight, regardless of how far away he was!

Just Gorgeous and I agree Nick Cardy is a Gentle Soul and one of the best of his time and still cranking them out with such beauty...Congrats !!!

Just saw this, Alex! More Cardy brilliance. Truly one of the most under-appreciated artists of his era. Even though he has two books out, he deserves even more. Congrats!
