DescriptionLike many of us, I was a big fan of the Byrne/Austin run on X-Men. I've been looking for the "right" page, and this one fit the bill! Thanks to Albert!!Social/Sharing |

Sweet Jesus!! Talk about taking you back...Lord, I remember this page when I was a teen. Oh how I loved Byrne's Uncanny X-Men and Perez's Teen Titans back in the day (reason why I'm a Young Avengers fan - I LOVE teen group books) - but WOW!! If there was a page to own from his run (of course, something with Phoenix wouldn't be TOO bad) this would be the $$ shot right here! Absoultely stunning page my friend! JEALOUS!! But congratulations on a fine find and is home in an already fantstic collection. Thank you very much for sharing...

One of the few full splashes featuring nearly the full team in the entire run. In some ways, I consider this splash to be from Byrne's best period. That period right after he became less of a Neal Adams clone and sometime before his art became perhaps a little too stylized. You can almost sense the artists' enthusiasm off the page, trying hard to make the most of the most of their big break at Marvel on a regular ongoing and popular title. Quite the impressive piece Ron, which, of course, fits right along with the rest of your quite impressive collection. Congratulations!

There are times when you see a new image post and think that you will come back to offer a comment because you do not have the time. When I saw your posting of this page to CAF back in July 2010, that was my initial thought. Now two plus years later, let me offer my congratulations as I have made the time to post. While issue 108 is Byrne's first on X-Men, issue 109 is where he set his standard with the first important villian that Chris and he created as their partnership gravitated from Marvel Premier/Iron Fist to Marvel Team-Up to Starlord to the series (X-Men) that forever cemented their legacy. Enough typing and thanks for posting.

This is THE page, for Uncanny X-Men. You get the whole team, and the names of their stellar authors. So Chapeau, and Congrats, and Spasibo - for sharing.

Can't believe I haven't commented on this before. I have to say, as impressive as this page is, my favorite thing is your modest description. It has such a "I guess this will do" attitude about it. LOL! Then again, it must be hard to muster up the excitement about a more contemporary example of art when you own so many stellar SA gems by masters like Kirby and Ditko. This must be your idea of slumming. LOL!!!!!

I am revisiting Byrne's wonderful run on X-Men; such a special read that brings me back to my earliest memories of comics. For me this era is the definitive X-Men period; the art and stories were and continue to be magical. It must be a treat to own such a great piece of comic art history.

I've long admired this piece and thought for sure that with as many times as I've visited the post that I would've commented already! This is such a grail piece for Byrne X-Men fans! If I'm ever able to land a Byrne X-Men piece, I hope it has just one fraction of the coolness of yours! Congrats Ron!

Byrne's X-Men to me isthe best of the series. Love how quickly Wolverine gets rid of Fangs costume. Congrats on a great splash!

What a treat to see this Byrne/Austin X-Men splash. This run was as important to my childhood as Star Wars, and that’s saying a lot! I mention Terry Austin because as good as John was, when he’s paired with Austin it’s PURE MAGIC! Congrats on having such an outstanding example...WOW!!!

Incredible page! I always thought the Fang costume would have been a great look on Wolverine. Byrne obviously did not agree...
